Classified Records

Most Police Reports and associated documents or file are classified as private, protected, or controlled depending on the nature of the incident. This classification is determined under the Government Records Access and Management Act (GRAMA). Records can only released to individuals meeting certain criteria. At the time a request is received, careful consideration will be given to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws.

It is advisable to allow one week after the date of the incident you are requesting to ensure that the information you need has been processed and completed.

Fingerprinting services are offered Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. only. You must live or work in Murray to qualify. The cost is $5 for the first card and $1 for each additional card. Please bring your picture identification for proof of residency.
